For the fifth week in a row, the government reported a 19. 0% oversubscription for treasury notes. The auction aim was GHc3. 3 billion, but the government received GHc3. 95 billion, representing a 19. 69% oversubscription.
It did, however, approve GH¢3. 89 billion in bids. According to the Bank of Ghana’s auction results, a little over 61% of the bids were for the 91-day bill. Bids totalling GHc2.449 billion were submitted. The total was GH¢2.447 billion.
Bids totalling GH¢781.43 million were made for the 182-day contract. The bids received were worth an estimated GHc726.43 million.
Furthermore, GH¢726. 43 million of the bids were for the 364-day bill. The same number of offers were approved.
Meanwhile, interest rates rose along the yield curve.
The yield on the 91-day note increased by one basis point to 11. 09%.
The 182-day rate increased to 12. 52% from 12. 43% the previous week.
The yield on the 364-day note increased by 3. 0 basis points to 12. 94%.
