Mahama delivers 2026 State of the Nation Address.

President John Dramani Mahama is addressing Ghana’s Parliament with his 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA), setting out his administration’s assessment of the country’s condition and outlining priorities for the year ahead.

The annual address, delivered in accordance with Article 67 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, requires the president to report to Parliament at the beginning of each session on the state of the nation.

In his speech, Mr Mahama is expected to provide updates on key sectors of the economy, including measures aimed at sustaining stability and growth. Health, education, agriculture and infrastructure are also anticipated to feature prominently, alongside the government’s plans to strengthen public services and social protection.

The president is further expected to outline Ghana’s foreign policy direction and reaffirm the country’s international commitments.The State of the Nation Address is closely watched by lawmakers, civil society groups and the wider public, as it offers insight into the government’s legislative agenda and policy focus for the coming year.
