By executive instrument and on the advice of the National Security Council, the Interior Minister has declared a curfew in specific towns inside the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.
Movement in the afflicted districts is prohibited daily between 5:00 PM and 6:00 AM due to the curfew, which will go into effect on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Abrewanko, Abrewianko Junction, Nyambo, Nyambo Junction, Shari, Kromase, Power, Nyakoma, Odomi, Bonakye, Nkwanta, and Ker are among the communities that have been impacted.
Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, young people, and locals in the neighborhood are being encouraged by the government to practice restraint and cooperate with initiatives to reestablish and uphold peace.
In order to ensure long-term stability in the municipality, it also urged stakeholders to express their concerns through nonviolent methods.
