Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the former minister for Food and Agriculture and MP for Abetifi, has urged Kennedy Agyapong, a former presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to utilise his power to unite the party rather than exacerbate its internal divisions.
After the 2024 general election defeat, the NPP’s top priority, according to Dr Acheampong in a statement released on June 19, 2026, is to rebuild, reconcile, and get ready for a comeback to power in 2028. He cautioned that only the party’s political rivals would gain from protracted internal disputes.
He said he comprehended the frustration that comes with a hard-fought primary election. He also ran in the NPP’s flagbearership contest in January 2026.
