Shatta Wale- EOCO has damaged my reputation which has cost me many commercial opportunities.

Shatta Wale, a dancehall artist, claims that the recent scandal involving the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has harmed his image and cost him numerous commercial opportunities.

The artist told Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen on Wednesday that he was unhappy with how the situation was handled and that it had damaged his brand both locally and worldwide.

“I feel terrible about it because the government has not safeguarded me as a citizen,” he stated. “I view this entire thing as either a game or something is targeting me.

According to him, the problem originated when EOCO officials visited his home following accusations that the former National Signals Bureau Director-General, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, gave him vehicles that authorities wanted to investigate.

“When this subject came up, it was about Adu-Boahene, who is a state official, and I know EOCO deals with state issues,” he said.

“But they came to my home saying Adu-Boahene had cars with me and that they wanted to check. When they arrived, there were no vehicles. It was just my Lamborghini.

The performer maintained that he had no association with the politician and wondered why the issue was handled publicly rather than privately.

“Shatta is a really dedicated and patriotic citizen. If you had approached me and informed me that your car had a breakdown in America and they were seeking for it, I would have signed the paperwork for you to return it.”

Shatta Wale believes that the way the issue was handled has given the impression that he purposefully purchased a stolen car.

“Everyone believes I acquired a stolen car,” he grieved. “When I came, I drove here in my Lamborghini. If it was stolen, why would I be driving it around?

He also stated that he had personally urged the EOCO director to handle the case carefully.

“The respect I had for the EOCO commander—when I met him, I even knelt down and begged him not to let the matter come out, regardless of what they intended to do with it,” he stated. As a result, the musician is demanding that the EOCO administration apologise to safeguard his reputation.

“I want to bravely say that the EOCO boss needs to apologise to my brand, not me, Shatta Wale, because they have truly tarnished my image in Ghana and even abroad,” he said. He stated that he was horrified to learn that the vehicle might be connected to criminal profits.

“The best thing they could have said was, ‘Shatta, come and take your car,’ but to hear another tale that the car is profits of crime, I was like, “where is this coming from?’ At one point, I didn’t feel safe in this country.”
