The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has responded to a fire outbreak that has spread through areas of the Kasoa New Market.
The GNFS issued a statement on its official Facebook page stating that members of the Weija Fire Station and the Kasoa Fire Station were quickly sent to the scene to put out the fire.
The Service went on to say that, in order to aid the ongoing firefighting operations as firefighters work to put the fire under control, all accessible fire tenders and water pumps in Accra have been sent to the scene.
According to the most recent report, firefighters are still at work, and police are attempting to stop the fire from spreading to other areas of the crowded market.
