Founder and Leader of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre, Prophet Ebenezer Opambuor Yiadom, has intimated that the re-election of the former vice president under the Akufo Addo regime as the flagbearer for the NPP in the yet-to-come 2028 elections would not affect the contest in any way; Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would still lose the 2028 elections, as he abysmally lost in 2024 to John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress.
He made these remarks in his church premises as he discussed the outcome of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s flagbearer election that was held on Saturday, 31st January 2026, across designated polling stations in Ghana.
He said that though the NPP has elected Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as their flagbearer, they would still lose to the National Democratic Congress. He revealed that it was nit limited to Dr Bawumia per se, but any candidate that the NPP presents would lose to any candidate that the NDC presents.He posited that Dr Bawumia’s victory does not come as a surprise to him because any one following the NPP presidential flagbearer race did not need a soothsayer to know that Dr Bawumia would emerge the winner right from the start of the contest.
Rev Opambour cautioned men of God who wage their belongings and properties on their prophecies.He admonished then that the place of a prophet in a contry is a serious calling and that men of God who identify as prophets should not take that office for granted.
Prophet Opambour in the run up to the 2024 General Elections, predicted a win for the current president, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the NDC. He even hosted President Mahama in one of his campaign trails at his church, the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre at Ahenema Kokoben, Kumasi. Die-hard NDC sympathizer Appiah Stadium even made a brief stopover at his church in the wake of the NDC victory in the December 2024 elections.
The self-anointed “Nation’s Prophet” said that the just as he prophesied that Dr. Bawumia would lose to the NDC in 2024, the 2028 is already a foregone conclusion and that the former Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, stood no chance against the NDC.
