Government to cover medical expenditures for Accra Newtown tragedy victims-Ayawaso Central MP

Abdul Rauf Tongym Tubazu, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, has assured that the government would pay the medical expenditures of anybody injured in the Accra Newtown structure collapse, calling the event a national issue.

He emphasised that it would be unreasonable to expect individuals injured to pay the costs of their treatment, adding that the state has a duty to ensure they get appropriate care and help during this trying time.

Mr. Tubazu stated that authorities are already working to contact all affected people in order to evaluate their needs and give assistance as needed. He verified that one of the victims, a mother, had been properly relocated to the 37 Military Hospital, where she is undergoing therapy.

The lawmaker confirmed the government’s commitment to helping victims throughout their rehabilitation, promising that all required measures would be taken to assist them through this tragedy.
