Bridge for Billions Opens Applications for Ghana Social Entrepreneurs in Healthcare Programme.

Bridge for Billions has opened applications for the Ghana Social Entrepreneurs in Healthcare Programme, inviting early-stage healthcare innovators and volunteer mentors to apply.

The seven-month incubation programme is being implemented in collaboration with Making More Health, an initiative of Boehringer Ingelheim, and is designed to accelerate healthcare solutions that address critical diseases while strengthening Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The programme focuses on ventures developing innovative responses to Cardio-Renal-Metabolic (CRM) diseases, including diabetes, heart failure, stroke, chronic kidney disease, obesity, and related health challenges.

Through a combination of structured digital tools and personalised mentorship, selected entrepreneurs will receive support to refine their business models, validate impact, and accelerate their journey toward sustainable growth.

According to Bridge for Billions, many early-stage healthcare ventures fail to reach sustainability due to limited access to structured support and ecosystem linkages. The programme seeks to close this gap by offering a comprehensive incubation journey tailored to Ghana’s healthcare context.

Programme Benefits for Entrepreneurs

Selected entrepreneurs will receive:

  • A structured, online venture-building journey delivered through Bridge for Billions’ digital platform

  • Dedicated one-on-one mentorship sessions to strengthen strategy and operations

  • Expert-led learning sessions focused on healthcare entrepreneurship in Ghana

  • A Health Systems Sprint, guided by leading healthcare ecosystem experts, to improve partnerships, market access, and stakeholder engagement

  • An in-person closing pitch event connecting entrepreneurs with mentors, ecosystem experts, and potential partners

Call for Volunteer Mentors

In parallel, Bridge for Billions is also seeking volunteer mentors to support participating entrepreneurs throughout the incubation period.

Mentors will provide guidance, feedback, and encouragement, helping founders navigate early-stage challenges in healthcare innovation.

Volunteer mentors can expect:

  • A structured mentoring framework with practical resources

  • Flexible, fully online engagement from anywhere in the world

  • A certificate of participation recognising mentorship and professional development

  • The opportunity to contribute to solutions that improve health outcomes in Ghana

“We’re committed to supporting Ghana’s healthcare entrepreneurs, and we know that mentorship plays a crucial role in helping early solutions become stronger, more relevant, and more sustainable,” said Margarida Soares, Senior Programme Manager at Bridge for Billions.

Applications for both entrepreneurs and volunteer mentors are open now and will close on January 30, 2026. Interested applicants can register and submit applications through Bridge for Billions’ online platform.
