
Mahama Naser Toure, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a period of illness.
Toure, a fourth-term MP, served in several important positions in Parliament, including Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee and member of the Roads and Transportation Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
Following his death, the body of the late MP has been transported to his home in Spintex, where his family is now meeting to complete preparations for the burial and funeral services in accordance with Muslim culture and traditions.
Meanwhile, dozens of people have congregated at the home to express condolences, praising the late legislator’s contributions to his constituency and the country.
Toure’s janazah prayers are scheduled to be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., following which his body will be buried.
Mahama Naser Toure served as the MP for Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th parliaments of the 4th Republic of Ghana. He won the 2024 general elections with 22,139 votes (70.85%).
