Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has reiterated the government’s firm commitment to the fight against corruption.
She made this known while addressing the 93rd Jalsa Salana of the National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission on Wednesday, January 8, in Gomoa Pomadze in the Central Region.
In her address, the Vice President underscored the importance of moral courage and ethical conduct in nation-building, noting that citizens strengthen the country by standing up for what is right, speaking out against injustice, and upholding shared values in both public and private life.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang stated that the government has taken concrete steps to improve the efficiency and coordination of key anti-corruption and accountability institutions, including the Attorney-General’s Department, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
She explained that these efforts are rooted in a strong moral framework and reflect the administration’s dedication to justice and transparency. As part of this commitment, she said the government has implemented and reinforced a code of conduct for political appointees and public officials, urging all officeholders to adhere strictly to its provisions.
The Vice President further stressed that public officials must demonstrate integrity, discipline, and accountability and place national interest above personal gain.
