The site of the tragic building collapse in Accra New Town has been visited by Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, Greater Accra Regional Minister Linda Ocloo, and Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak. They are making sure that everything is being done to save those who are still trapped.

While emergency crews toiled into the night, coordinating operations and personally evaluating the scenario, the three ministers were seen at the location. They emphasised that no effort will be spared in the continuous hunt for survivors beneath the debris, pointing out that all pertinent rescue organisations are present and actively involved.
With the situation remaining tense and worries that additional victims may still be caught beneath the rubble, their visit arrives at a critical moment. The fall of the three-storey building has so far claimed the lives of two people, while 14 others have been saved.
Emergency crews intensified their efforts to reach those still buried, and Michael Kpakpo Allotey confirmed the fatalities earlier.
The incident took place in an unfinished structure on the grounds of the Accra New Town Experimental Basic School. Additionally, Christians utilise the location on Sundays for worship. The reason for the collapse has not yet been ascertained.
The Ghana Police Service, National Disaster Management Organisation, and Ghana National Fire Service personnel have led the rescue effort, which has lasted throughout the night.
To improve visibility, floodlights have been installed, and heavy machinery is being used to carefully remove debris. Authorities say the urgency remains high because it is thought that there are still victims alive beneath the debris, as evidenced by reports of voices crying for assistance.
The ministers’ presence highlights the seriousness of the issue as government authorities strive to guarantee a coordinated, continuous rescue effort to save lives.
