Mr. Benjamin Kye-Ampadu, the headmaster of Jachie-Pramso Senior High School, has credited the school’s excellent academic performance to rigorous discipline and effective student monitoring systems.
Mr. Kye-Ampadu spoke during the school’s 55th Anniversary Speech and Prize Giving Day in Bosomtwe, stressing that discipline is still the foundation of the institution’s success. He stated that students are always monitored and receive counseling to assist them in maintaining their attention on their academics.

“Discipline plays an important role in determining students’ success. To promote a positive learning environment, our institution has formed a disciplinary committee and a counselling unit,” he explained. “These teams work nonstop to advise students and ensure they stay on track. “
He stated that administrators have increased efforts to avoid security concerns on campus, following allegations that pupils in certain schools were bringing hazardous goods onto school grounds.

“We have noticed worrisome trends in which kids have been discovered with guns in some schools, and we are intensifying our efforts to avoid similar threats here,” he said. “We aim to develop responsible people who will have a good influence. “
Despite the school’s academic and extracurricular success, the headmaster admitted that Jachie-Pramso SHS faces significant infrastructure issues that risk its development.

He reported that multiple projects, including an administration block, assembly hall, and dining hall, are nearing completion, with some up to 80% complete, but have halted owing to budget issues. He also emphasized the critical necessity for increased toilet capacity to enhance cleanliness on campus.
Mr Kye-Ampadu hence appealed to the government, commercial groups, and charity to support the school. He emphasized that early intervention would assist to maintain excellent teaching and learning.
In response to the plea, Hamid Abdullah, the District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, committed to facilitate the completion of projects under the government’s legacy infrastructure program.
Meanwhile, former Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, asked parents to actively guide their children and teach them to respect instructors and prioritize education.
He stated that strong parental support would encourage kids to work harder and prepare them for future success. Dr. Adutwum, as a former student of the school, also urged students to make effective use of the facilities available to them in order to improve their academic achievements.
The anniversary celebration was organized around the theme “Empowering the Youth for the Future: The Role of Stakeholders” and was completely funded by the school’s previous students. The ceremony included prizes for exceptional instructors, non-teaching personnel, and pupils, as well as a reunion for graduates.
Several traditional, religious, and political figures attended the occasion, including Baffour Kwaku Amoateng IV, Chief of Jachie and Otumfuo’s Akyeame Panyin; Nana Gyampon-Tuah II, Chief of Pramso; and Right Reverend Stephen Kwaku Owusu, Kumasi Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana.
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation’s (GNPC) Board Chairman, Prof. Joseph Oteng-Agyei, as well as other high government officials, was in attendance.
Dr William Amankra Appiah, Ashanti Regional Director of Education, praised the school’s administration for preserving strong academic and moral standards throughout the years. He stated that the senior high school curriculum is intended to encourage comprehensive education, preparing kids for careers, entrepreneurship, and responsible citizenship.
He also asked stakeholders to collaborate closely with school administrators to guarantee the institution’s effective management and ongoing growth.
