Prophet Kofi Oduro , the renowned vocal and vociferous overseer of the Alabaster International Ministry, has appealed to Ghanaians in general and Christians in particular to forgive Prophet Bernard El Bernard during a sermon in his church in the wake of the latter’s failed prophecies about Kennedy Agyapong winning the January 31st NPP flagbearer elections. Prophet El Bernard became a subject of ridicule when his widely publicised prophecies about Kennedy Agyapong winning the NPP Flagbearship became a fiasco after the NPP declared Dr Bawumia as the winner on Saturday evening
Reacting to the trolls and castigations of Prophet El Bernard in the wake of the failed prophecy, he admitted that attention seeking (hysteria) and glory hunting were two things that could kill God’s annointing on any prophet.
He revealed that he knows Prophet El Bernard and his wife Mimi very well, the former has been to his church, and he holds them dearly to his heart, so he doesn’t really care what anyone says about them.
Prophet Oduro wondered why Christians do not lift or encourage a fellow wounded soldier in Christ the way secular soldiers rescue their colleagues to base in the midst of all the hostilities of the battleground. He was surprised that Christians rather castigate and pour scorn and salt unto the wounds of the fallen Christian soldier. He wondered why, of all people, it is only Christians who would kill a wounded and deflated Christian soldier with their words and attitude
He quizzed why everyone was silent when the now embattled Prophet El Bernard prophesied correctly about the current Ga Mantse becoming a Ga Mantse two years ago (at a time when he was just an everyday citizen) at a church programme at Family Chapel in Kumasi
He also wondered where the Christians were when Prophet El Bernard prophesied correctly about President Mahama’s victory and the Sunyani West MP’s victory (the latter won at her first attempt). He pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive Prophet El Bernard because men of God are yet still men and neither demi gods nor supermen. He admitted that prophets have erred in projecting themselves above their capacity, which makes them subject to ridicule and mockery when their prophecies fail.
He said, “Bernard El Bernard , we are with you in prayer; we would correct you in love and restore you in love.” “You have erred; you have made a mistake because you are mortal. This tells you that you are a man and you are limited like everybody. We would not castigate; we would not malign; we are going to ask Ghanaians to forgive him, and we are asking the church to pray for him. He is one of us; we cannot desert him. You touch one, you touch all. We are wounded; we are all wounded because what he went through I can go through.”
He further added that “even the Bible says that ‘we see in part and we prophesy in part'” and that men of God are not omniscient and omnipotent; however, it is just by the grace of God.
