NDC Opens Nominations, Sets February 7 for Ayawaso East Parliamentary Contest.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially released the timetable and guidelines for its Ayawaso East parliamentary primaries, scheduled for February 2026.

In a notice signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC urged all aspirants and stakeholders to adhere strictly to the timelines and conduct their activities with decorum, unity, and fairness, reflecting the party’s commitment to internal democracy.

According to the timetable:

  • Nominations open on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the party’s Regional Office.

  • Completed nomination forms must be submitted on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, within the same time window.

  • Vetting, balloting, and hearing of appeals will take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, also at the Regional Office.

  • The parliamentary election itself is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at a designated venue within the Ayawaso East Constituency.

The party leadership reiterated its call on all aspirants to fully comply with the laid-down guidelines and uphold the spirit of unity and fairness throughout the process, as the NDC prepares to select its candidate for the constituency.
